Well, what can I say about the last few months?
It's been a juggling act of home school and day to day life in the Duncan house since the end of March. The weather blessed us all with some fabulous warmth and sunshine which has helped the long weeks of lockdown pass by a little quicker.
I've been helping my 2020 couples rearrange their special days, I'm sure there has been tears and frustration as nobody knew or could fathom just how much life would become disrupted but I made sure everyone was happy and safe in the knowledge I would do my best to help them. Now, at last, everyone has new dates and I'm so pleased that I could keep all my lovely couples and continue to be their photographer in 2021.
I can't imagine the heartache and disappointment they must have all gone through but I do know one thing, their wedding days are going to be amazing! All their families and friends will want to make sure they have simply the best day and I cannot wait to be there to capture it.
I sure am missing planning the weddings so decided to look back through the incredible days during summer and autumn 2019 and the lovely couples I had the pleasure of photographing. Just some of fabulous venues we went to included, Sprowston Manor, Glen Lodge, Somerleyton, Ufford Park, Abbey Gardens in Bury St Edmunds, White Hall Farm, Old Newton, Tudor Barn in Belsted and the cricket ground pavilion in Rattlesden to name a few.
First up in my Looking Back, Looking Forward feature is Peter and Michelle Madden. I first met Michelle and her daughter Yazz in McDonalds near Beccles ( I know how to spoil all my prospective clients!) Michelle had handed over most of the arrangements to her daughter Yazz who was completely in control, knew exactly what she wanted and made sure all the suppliers were well informed and kept on our toes throughout the whole process. Michelle and Peter had been together for a few years and were looking forward to finally tying the knot at Somerleyton Church before heading to the Park Hill Hotel in Lowestoft for a big family reception afterwards. Peter was adamant that he didn't want photographs taken on the day and my orders were to blend in! Suffice to say, by the end of a beautiful early summer's day full of emotional memories, love and laughter, he was as confident in front of the camera as anyone!
My special thanks goes to Yazz who was a star throughout the whole process.
